Recombinant Human Albumin, Domain II

Price range: $215.00 through $765.00

Domain II of Human Albumin (residues 189-385) is a defatted product produced recombinantly by Pichia pastoris yeast. It is free from viruses and prions.

Application Note:

In the creation of the separate domains of albumin, surfaces of the domains normally protected in the intact albumin are exposed to solvent. While they retain high solubility
in water and PBS, they have an unavoidable tendency to dimerize over time in solution. Among the domains, Domain II is the most unstable and aggregation prone with dimer/oligomeric forms as high as 40-50%. With that said, all three domains have been routinely and successfully applied for decades.

Preparation and storage:

The freeze-dried powder can be stored at 4*C until use. We recommend dissolving the lyophilized powder in PBS, preparing suitable aliquots, then storing any unused material at -80*C.
